'Vanderpump Rules' Reunion: Sex Tape At Center Of Stassi Schroeder And Scheana Shay Feud
As expected, tensions reached a head and secrets were revealed during part two of the “Vanderpump Rules” reunion special after Stassi Schroeder joined the cast on stage. Schroeder was absent from a majority of the most recent season after she quit her job at SUR, ended several of her former friendships and moved to New York with her new boyfriend. The 26-year-old returned to the West Coast and resumed filming, though she attempted to stay as far away from the drama as possible. Her absence didn't keep her from bashing several members of the group throughout the season, including former friend Scheana Shay.
The two fell out during a previous season, though it remained unclear where exactly their issues began – until now. Through a majority of the reunion Schroeder and Shay exchanged jabs back and forth, but no one expected Stassi to drop a bomb, exposing the root of their nasty beef. She revealed to viewers, and perhaps a few out-of-the-loop members of the “Pump Rules” cast, that she believed Shay had told others about her sex tape and, to make matters worse, suggested selling it. Shay denied the allegations, saying she saw the video, but would have had her friend's back if her ex tried to sell the tape.
Though Shay denied having a copy of the X-rated home video, the show's leading lady, Lisa Vanderpump knew precisely what Schroeder was talking about. The restaurateur revealed to RumorFix that she did what she could to keep the tape from leaking.
“It's obviously out there. I tried to do everything I could to protect her. I hope she can move past it,” she told the site.
It was previously reported that Vanderpump asked various gossip sites not to publish the tape, even shelling out “a lot of money” to a private seller who had been shopping the tape. Still, that wasn't enough to keep Schroeder from cutting her off as well.
Before the cast wrapped the episode, Vanderpump tweeted a message of praise. The “Real Housewives” star said, regardless of their differences, “the cast were so loyal,” keeping Schroeder's secret until the very end.
During an episode of “Ask Andy,” Bravo's Andy Cohen told viewers he was fairly certain Schroeder, who has been with the show since 2013, will not be returning to future seasons of “Vanderpump Rules.”
“Would I be surprised if she left? No,” he revealed. “Things did not go smoothly during the reunion taping. I think she was kind of done.”
Neither Schroeder or Shay have not addressed the sex tape rumors any further.
