Vanessa Bryant has blocked Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant fan pages on Instagram, and she has a good reason for doing so.
In an Instagram Story, the widow explained that she decided to cut fan pages dedicated to her deceased husband and child as she is still taking time to mourn their deaths, Page Six reported. Apparently, seeing Kobe and Gigi’s photos constantly on social media makes going online difficult for the matriarch.
“@nataliabryant and I have unfortunately had to block fan pages because it’s been really hard to go online and constantly see pics of our beloved Gigi and Kobe under every single square of our explore pages. Blocking the fan pages has helped change the algorithm,” the 38-year-old said.
Vanessa also asked her followers to understand what she and the rest of the family are going through and clarified that blocking the fan pages doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate the outpouring of love and support. It’s just that the move was necessary for the healing of the surviving family, she said.
Prior to her announcement, Vanessa revealed that she was honoring Kobe and Gianna with tattoos in an Instagram post. In the clip, the mom of four, dubbed as Queen Mamba, showed Nikko Hurtado inking words on her neck, which she said were the late NBA superstar’s “sweet message” to her.
“So happy I can see my Gigi’s handwriting everyday #mambacita,” Vanessa wrote while showing her tattoo on her wrist.
In related news, Vanessa recently claimed that the family had lost hundreds of millions of dollars in future earnings, following the death of the former Los Angeles Lakers player. She made the claim in the wrongful death lawsuit she filed against the pilot who got killed in the helicopter crash and the company that owned the aircraft that transported Kobe and Gianna, along with many others.
"As a result of Kobe Bryant’s and GB’s deaths, Vanessa Bryant seeks economic damages, non-economic damages, prejudgment interest, punitive damages, and other relief as the Court deems just and proper," the documents obtained by the Entertainment Tonight read.
Kobe, Gianna and seven others, including pilot Ara Zobayan, were killed in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26 in Calabasas, California. Vanessa accused Island Express of having knowledge of the pilot’s previous violation and still gave him a go-signal to fly.
