Vanessa Bryant Mourns Death Of Family Dog Crucio: 'We're Going To Miss You'
Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, has bid farewell to their beloved family dog, Crucio.
"We love you, Crucio. Thank you for everything sweet boy. Thank you for watching over us. We're going to miss you. #GoodBoy #RestEasy," Vanessa captioned her post on her Instagram page Friday after the black Labrador retriever's death. She ended her caption with black broken heart emojis.
The former model uploaded a set of photos of the black retriever, which was named after a "Harry Potter" spell. The images showed the black dog wearing different bandanas around its neck, one of which said "happy birthday." She also shared a snap showing her daughters cuddling the dog.
Vanessa's celebrity friends shared their condolences following the pet mama's post.
Kris Jenner wrote, "So sorry Vanessa. We all love you." "Emily in Paris" actress Lily Collins commented, "We're sending you so so much love."
Taboo, a member of Black Eyed Peas said, "sending love to u and your family from The Gomez Familia...rest easy Crucio..."
Ciara simply added three black hearts, while fashion designer and businesswoman Rachel Zoe wrote, "I'm so sorry."
Businesswoman Loren Ridinger also took to the comment section to comfort her friend and said, "So sorry babe."
Vanessa's 19-year-old daughter Natalia also shared an emotional farewell to their family pet saying, "I truly have no words except for the fact that Crucio was the best dog I could have ever asked for. To the most handsome, loving, selfless and brave dog – you will forever be missed."
Vanessa had earlier posted a sweet clip of Crucio comforting her just before the second year anniversary of the helicopter crash that killed Kobe and her daughter Gianna in 2020.
"Crucio (always tries to lick my tears)," she wrote with the video that showed the dog licking her face.
A statue of Kobe and Gianna was erected at the crash site in Calabasas, California, on Jan. 27 by sculptor Dan Medina. The names of the other passengers who died in the crash were inscribed beneath the sculpture.
