Vanessa Williams Dons Egyptian Goddess-Inspired Gown To Marry Jim Skirp
Vanessa Williams got the perfect Egyptian goddess look she always wanted for her special day. Last Satuday she married her long-time beau, Jim Skrip.
The Williams-Skrip nuptials occurred last Saturday in the groom’s hometown of Buffalo, New York. The 52-year-old bride celebrated her big day with two wonderful wedding gowns, designed by Carmen Marc Valvo. For her first look, the singer-actress wore a silky and streamlined sleeveless top and skirt, highlighted with a gold band in her waist. She wore a pair of pointed-toe T-strapped heels. Finally, her look was topped off with a traditional long white veil that went perfectly with her straight locks.
“It was magnificent,” Williams exclusively told People. “I felt like an Egyptian goddess, and that was exactly the theme I was going for.”
Meanwhile, her 52-year-old husband at first glance didn’t notice the wonderful wedding dress his bride was wearing. “When I finally noticed the dress, it was perfect for Vanessa: sleek, simple and sexy. She then had another surprise for me: she did a quick change into another beautiful gown for the vows ceremony. She was stunning,” he said
This is William’s third marriage. She was first married to Ramon Hervey II from 1987 to 1997 and had three children, Melanie, 28, Jillian, 26, and Devin, 22. Afterwards she married NBA star Rick Fox in 1999 and divorced after six years. They both had a daughter, Sasha, now 15 years old.
