The Samsung Galaxy Nexus
The white Samsung Galaxy Nexus is expected to hit stores in the UK in the next two weeks and the U.S launch will follow in early February, according to Expansys.com. Reuters

It appears the Verizon Galaxy Nexus phone might be worth the wait after all. A new video of the phone bearing Verizon's logo demonstrates amazing speed with 4G LTE connectivity.

With Verizon still to announce an official date for the U.S. release of the highly anticipated Galaxy Nexus, customers are growing frustrated by the continuous swamp of rumors surrounding the phone. But now videos have started to emerge of the phone in action, which suggests the phone's release could be closer than we think.

YouTube user, hksscom, who appears to already have his hands on the phone, has performed a speed test on the phone and posted it online. The test carried out on Verizon's 4G network shows the phone peaking at 8Mbps indoor, with only two bars of coverage.

Meanwhile, a user on My Droid World posted a screenshot of an apparent Verizon Galaxy Nexus heralding Android Version.4.1. The Nexus Prime is the first phone to support the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, which was designed to bridge the gap between Android 2.x and the 3.0 honeycombs.

Galaxy Nexus, which boasts a dual core 1.2 GHz Texas Instruments OMAp4460 processor, has been released in UK and Japan, but the wait is still on in the U.S. When the phone launched in Europe, U.S. fans were given a glimmer of hope, which purported a release in time for Thanksgiving shopping deals. But the deal never came, nor did the phone, and Verizon continues to hold its silence.

As the hype dyed down and customers re-composed themselves, the phone suddenly appeared in a Best Buy ad with a release date of Nov.27. There was one small anomaly; however, the phone was under its original rumored name: Nexus Prime, -another no show.

Just as Samsung fans grow impatient and start to look toward purchaing the iPhone 4S; videos and photos of the phone have been popping on YouTube, which has lead tech experts to believe the wait is coming to an end and the phone will be out any day now.

The phone comes with AMOLED 4.65 inch screen with a 720p resolution. Its 8.94mm thinness gives the phone a sleek finish and weighing only 135g. Despite being so slender and light the phone comes with a 16.30 GB storage and 1GB RAM giving it twice the memory of the iPhone 4S.
