'Vermintide 2' Guide: Righteous Stand Tome And Grimoire Locations

Tomes are hidden items strewn about all of "Vermintide 2's" levels, and they grant bonus XP and loot quality at the end of a run if players manage to get out alive while having them in their healing item slot.

When paired with Grimoires, players can enjoy even larger XP and quality bonuses on top of other possible modifiers like Loot Die, Ranald's Gift rolls and event multipliers.

Unlike regular items, these collectible books respawn at the exact same locations, which means players will only ever need to find them once and take note of their spawn points for future reference. However, be prepared to sacrifice two item slots as well as up to 50% max health.

Here's a guide to all of the tomes in "Righteous Stand," the first level of Act One in "Vermintide 2."

First Tome – Marketplace

The first book is found right by the beginning of the level. Once the party reaches the market and the barricade leading to the Archer's Garrison, turn left and face the abandoned wagons on the road.

The tome will be inside a container on top of one of the carts alongside some other useful consumables if the players are lucky enough.

First Grimoire – Kriegsheim Barracks

The first cursed book is hidden inside the Archer's Garrison, just after clearing the Portcullis horde event and riding the elevator to the residential area of the barracks.

Step off the lift and open the door leading to the living quarters. There will be a stack of crates and on the right-hand wall with a small box on top. The Grimoire can be found on top of the pile, but getting there will require a lot more effort.

Search for a hole in the ceiling near the stack of crates and take note of its location. Then, head to the second floor via the stairs at the end of the hall and look for the same hole that leads back down.

There should be an explosive barrel right next to the hole players need to drop down from.

Drop onto the box below the hole then jump across toward the bunk beds. Use the beds as a bridge, then grab the Grimoire from the large stack of crates.

Players should note that grabbing the Grimoire from the lower floor is no longer possible due to an update to Righteous Stand's design

Second Tome – Storehouse

Proceed to the garrison and clear out anything that stands in the way. Upon reaching the battlements on top of the Axe Bite Pass Garrison, continue toward the guardhouse right before the area with the interactable cannon.

Go to the second floor and cross toward the other side to find a gap on the floor that leads to a pile of trash downstairs. The tome is inside a box on top of the stack of garbage.

Second Grimoire – Construction Area

The second cursed book involves a small jumping puzzle near the end of the level. Head to the end of Axe Bite Garrison and reach the guardhouse surrounded by scaffolding.

Head to the side facing the Temple of Sigmar then look right to find wooden struts that are lined up along the wall.

Jump onto these struts to reach the other end of the garrison, then jump onto the boarded window. Be careful as this last jump can be tricky at first. Players who fail to make it can use the ladder inside the storehouse to return to the upper floor.

Crouch down, enter the building and then tag the button to the left of the door. This will cause a ladder to drop down from the scaffolding on the outside.

Climb the ladder and grab the Grimoire sitting on the platform. Be very careful not to jump down from top as it will lead to instant death.

Third Tome – Hidden Cave

Trudge through the remainder of the level and onto the grassy yard that leads to the Temple of Sigmar. Before climbing up the stone steps, notice a thick patch of shrubs on the opposite side by the rocky outcrop.

Walk through the foliage to find a secret cave. The book can be found lying near a pile of debris by the end alongside some other possible item spawns.
