Victoria Beckham Recalls Wearing 'Inappropriate' Outfit At Versace Event: 'It Haunts Me'

Victoria Beckham opened up about a fashion choice that still "haunts" her. The 48-year-old fashion designer recalled the event when she and her husband, David Beckham, donned matching Gucci leather outfits, while attending a Versace dinner.

During a segment, "So Posh or Oh Gosh!?" on the "Watch What Happens Live" show Monday, Victoria was shown old photos of her, when she and her husband wore matching outfits.

Victoria immediately responded, saying, "It haunts me, it does haunt me."

When the host questioned the reason behind it, the fashion designer explained that it was because they "were wearing Gucci [and] it was a Versace dinner, which is inappropriate in itself."

She added, "We really thought about it and there was a naïveté to it that was just so sweet."

This was not the first time Victoria spoke out about wearing matching outfits with her husband, David. The fashion mogul spoke about it last year during "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," noting they don't often wear matching outfits but whenever they do, it is "very well-documented."

"We didn't do it that much but every time we did, it was very well-documented and will just not leave me alone, let me tell you," She told Jimmy Fallon. "It just seemed like a really good idea at the time, you know? It really did."

She added, "I think it was a naivety then. We didn't know about fashion. We were just having fun with it, which, to be honest with you, is kind of the way it should be."

David and Victoria Beckham tied the knot on July 4, 1999. David celebrated 22 years of their marriage last year by sharing throwback photos of them wearing matching outfits.

The couple share four kids together - Brooklyn, 23, Romeo, 20, Cruz, 17 and Harper, 11. On the work front, David retired from professional soccer in May 2013.

Victoria, on the other hand, lent her voice to Amphitrite's character in the animated series "SpongeBob SquarePants," which was released in 2010. She will next lend her voice to Posh Spice's character in the upcoming animated movie, "The Spice Girls."
