Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016 Models: Meet The 12 Angels Walking In Paris Show
Over 50 gorgeous models will be hitting the catwalk for the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Paris Fashion Show Monday night on CBS, but only 12 of them have earned their wings to become official Victoria’s Secret models (aka Angels). Becoming an Angel is typically a big deal for models that are lucky enough to be cast in the brand’s annual lingerie fashion show.
According to the Fashion Law, being a Victoria’s Secret Angel means more exposure and constant modeling gigs. The Angels spend a lot more time promoting the brand by appearing in TV commercials, walking in their fashion shows, doing photo shoots for print ads and traveling.
By now, you already know that Kendall Jenner and her BFFs Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid will be walking in the Victoria’s Secret 2016 Fashion Show, but how much do you know about the official Angels? Ahead of Monday’s airing of the event, we rounded a few fun facts about the 12 Angels.
Adriana Lima:
Adriana Lima is one of the most well-known Angels. She’s been walking in the brand’s show since 1999 and was made an official Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2000. Lima has also worn the coveted Fantasy Bra three times, in 2008, 2010 and 2014.
Alessandra Ambrosio:
The 35-year-old model was the first face of Victoria’s Secret PINK line, which she helped launch in 1999. She earned her Angel wings in 2004 and was asked to wear the Fantasy Bra in 2012 and in 2014 with Lima.
Lily Aldridge:
Aldridge is another popular Victoria’s Secret Angel. She earned her wings in 2010 and wore the Fantasy Bra for the first time in 2015. Aldridge is also good friends with Taylor Swift and appeared in her “Bad Blood” music video as Frostbyte.
Elsa Hosk:
Hosk is one of the newest Angels, earning her wings last year. She started working for lingerie brand in 2011, but before she got into modeling Hosk was a professional basketball player in Sweden.
Jasmine Tookes:
The 25-year-old model became an official Angel last year and will be walking in the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show wearing the Bright Night Fantasy Bra. The bra is worth $3 million and includes over 450 carats of precious gems.
Josephine Skriver:
Skriver made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut in 2013, walking in PINK section. She appeared again in 2014 and 2015 and was made an Angel in February.
Lais Ribeiro:
Ribeiro has been a familiar face on the Victoria’s Secret runway since 2010. Ever since making her debut, she’s walked in every show except 2012. According to PopSugar, the model had to sit that year out because she sprained her ankle during rehearsals. Ribeiro became an Angel last year.
Martha Hunt:
Like a few other names on this list, Hunt earned her wings in 2015. She’s also another close friend of Swift’s and appeared in “Bad Blood” music video as HomeSlice.
Romee Strijd:
Strijd made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut in 2014 and became an Angel the following year. In a video interview with the lingerie brand talking about becoming one of their official models, Strijd said she was excited to inspire young girls “to be the best version of themselves.”
Sara Sampaio:
Sampaio said she has always wanted to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and she made her debut in 2013. She returned again in 2014 and became an Angel last year. Besides modeling, Sampaio is a brown belt in karate.
Taylor Hill:
This will be Hill’s fourth time walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but she didn’t become an Angel until last year. Ahead of show’s taping in Paris on Nov. 30 she told Elle that she preps for the runway by taking care of herself. That includes drinking lots of water, eating healthy and doing butt workouts.
Stella Maxwell:
Maxwell became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2015. Her romantic life was in the headlines last year when it was rumored that she was dating Miley Cyrus after they were spotted kissing. She said in an interview at the time that she met the singer through Instagram when Miley’s friend reached out about taking some photos of her.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs Monday at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
