Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Update 2015: Kendall Jenner Bans Kardashian Sisters
International fashion model Kendall Jenner walked her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Model show Tuesday, but her famous Kardashian half-sisters weren’t in attendance. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star banned Kourtney, Kim and Khloé from the event, she told the New York Daily News backstage at the Regiment Armory in New York City Tuesday.
Her parents, Caitlyn and Kris Jenner, were present, but not her older siblings. "I told them all to stay away,” she said, worried about the attention her headline-grabbing sisters might steal. "It was too much pressure and I was like, 'Mom and Dad are good enough,' Jenner said. "I just need the pressure off. There's enough pressure as it is."
Jenner, 20, was thrilled to be a part of the famous runway show, especially after her best friend, Gigi Hadid, was announced as a member. She almost cried with excitement at her first fitting. "You know when you can feel it in your throat that you're about to cry? I held myself back. I stopped myself,” she said.
It’s not the first time Jenner told the Kardashians to stay away. During New York Fashion Week in September 2014, she didn’t want Kim or her brother-in-law, Kanye West, to be in the audience. “Kim was invited to a lot of the shows that I was in,” Jenner told the Cut at the time. “She called me before and was like, ‘Hey, I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?’ and I was like, ‘No.’”
She also talked about separating herself from her famous family. “I’m doing this for me. On my own. I love my family. But this is my thing. It’s me,” she told the Sunday Times Style section in 2014.
Though the show filmed Tuesday, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show won’t air on CBS until Dec. 8.
