Less than 12 hours removed from the biggest game of his NBA career, a strange video of New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony David has gone viral.

According to Black Sports online, the NSFW video below is from some time during Davis’s one year at Kentucky. It’s unclear if it’s a type of hazing, but it shows the 20-year-old face down on the floor with his pants down, and someone else behind him twisting Davis’s left arm and spanking him.

Davis doesn’t look like he’s in any pain and he is smiling, so it could be chalked up to some form of good-natured hazing. However, the clip is also titled "Anthony Davis is Gay."

The timing of the video is also strange for two reasons. The Miami Dolphins scandal involving offensive lineman Richie Incognito and teammate Jonathan Martin has created a debate amongst NFL players and fans as to what should and shouldn’t leave the locker room, and how far teammates can go when “initiating” young players.

The second is the release of the video right after Davis put up 32 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocked shots in New Orleans 96-85 trouncing of the Los Angeles Lakes on Friday night. The No. 1 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft had plenty of expectations placed upon him before even taking an NBA court, and struggled to overcome some nagging injuries last season.

Davis appeared in 64 games last season with averages of 13.5 points and 8.2 rebounds -- a solid rookie year for anyone Last night’s game showed his complete repertoire, and helped propel his status as an up-and-coming star.
