VIDEO College Football Player Breaks Leg; Cincinnati Quarterback Munchie Legaux’s Gruesome Leg Injury
Cincinnati quarterback Munchie Legaux suffered a gruesome left leg injury during the fourth quarter of the Bearcats matchup against Illinois on Saturday afternoon.
With the Bearcats down 31-17 with less than 10 minutes left in the game, a pair of Illini defenders rushed the pocket as Legaux dropped back.
The duo collided at the senior’s leg and he went down immediately. Legaux was tended to be trainers and medical staff and was soon taken off the field.
Before he went down, Legaux converted 17-of-31 passes for 237 yards, to go along with a touchdown and an interception.
It’s too early to tell if the injury threatens to end his senior year, but its gruesome nature bares some similarity to South Carolina’s Marcus Lattimore last year, and to Louisville basketball player Kevin Ware’s this past spring.
Last season, Legaux threw for 1,716 yards and 13 touchdowns, and rushed for another 335 yards and four touchdowns.
