Tottenham and Chelsea battled to a 1-1 result on Thursday at White Hart Lane, as Spurs remain in third place in the Premier League.

Harry Redknapp's squad took the lead in the eight minute when forward Emmanuel Adebayor tapped in an excellent cross from Gareth Bale. The Blues evened the match 15 minutes later when Daniel Sturridge knocked in a cross from defender Ashley Cole.

Tottenham took 16 shots, with four on goal, while Chelsea took 22 shots, with seven on goal. Spurs controlled possession for 55 percent of the match.

John Terry was subjected to taunts from Tottenham supporters following charges of racism against the England centre back. Terry blocked an Adebayor shot in the dying moments of the match to hold off Spurs.

Next up for Tottenham is a road match against Norwich on Boxing Day, while Chelsea host Fulham at Stamford Bridge.
