Since its 1997 debut, "The View" has been known to tackle political issues. This season, hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Meghan McCain have discussed a variety of topics surrounding the upcoming 2020 presidential election. Now, one of the ABC personalities is set to moderate an upcoming virtual fundraiser called "Rock Out on a Night In" that will feature former Vice President Joe Biden.

According to Variety, the event, which will take place on May 28, will showcase an assortment of musical acts, including "If It Makes You Happy" singer Sheryl Crow, "Going to a Town" musician Rufus Wainwright, and others. Co-chairs of the upcoming event "commit to raise or contribute $100,000," but other tickets can be purchased starting at $250.

During the fundraiser, the "Sister Act" star will be joined by Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth as both take on moderating duties.

This is not the first time in recent months that Biden's campaign has received help from some of his celebrity friends. On May 5, the former vice president shared a video on his YouTube channel that featured comedian Keegan-Michael Key. In the short clip, which is called "How To Social Distance Friendship," the two discussed various ways that people can stay connected amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Prior to the news about Goldberg's new role, the comedian recently appeared on SiriusXM’s "The Howard Stern Show" to discuss her future on "The View." During the conversation, she said that she believed she is doing what she needs to at this time.

"I guess I’m supposed to be in this chair every day saying, 'Listen, we do not have to buy into fear or panic. We can master this if we do it together.' I feel like I am better off saying, 'Listen.' Somebody needs to stand up when the person in the White House says, hey, maybe we should inject some bleach," she told Stern, adding, "I'm the person that has to say, 'Hey, hey you sitting there, you need to stand up and say, 'You can't do... No."
