The annual Viking festival of Catoira took place in north-western Spain on August 7, 2011. The festival re-enacts past Viking raids in the area.
The celebration dates back to 1960, and now takes place on the third Sunday of August annually, when the local people stage their own interpretation of a Viking raid.
The festival was declared as National Tourist Interest in 1998, and International Interest in 2002.
