‘Vikings’ Season 4 Spoilers: Episode 2 Sneak Peek Video Teases Rollo’s Transformation
Looking good, Rollo!
In the episode 2 of the History Channel series “Vikings,” the dirt-covered warrior will get a severe makeover — one that’ll leave Rollo (Clive Standen) looking almost unrecognizable in the Season 4 installment. His long, dark locks will be cut and blow-dried into a full-bodied bob and a new, dazzling wardrobe will complete his transformation from Viking warrior into a regal, Parisian ruler.
But just because Rollo will look like a Frankish leader doesn’t mean he is one. And his wife Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski) makes sure to remind him of that when she gets a first glimpse at her husband’s makeover. In a sneak peek video for the upcoming episode, titled “Kill the Queen,” audiences watch as the Parisian princess breaks out into a fit of laughter when Rollo presents his new look.
When Princess Gisla first met Rollo she was disgusted with the pagan beast. And her revulsion for the Northman grew stronger when she learned she had to wed the “soulless” creature. “I would rather be burned alive!” she said in the Season 3 finale of “Vikings.” But for the good of Paris and her people, Princess Gisla reluctantly exchanged vows. Rollo, however, was tickled with the idea of become a major figure in Paris and delighted to marry a woman with such ambition and strength.
In an effort to win over his new bride, Rollo will go to extreme depths to appease her, according to the synopsis for episode 2.
“We’re going to see a completely different Rollo,” Standen teased in a Season 4 trailer. “If he’s ever going to conquer Paris and conquer the princess he has to be far more cerebral, he has to be on his A-game all the time and his attitude to Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) has to change. He’s can’t always be in the doldrums of being this second-best brother that’s in the shadows,” the actor dished.
But is a hair cut enough to win over Princess Gisla? Fans will find out when “Vikings” Season 4, episode 2 airs on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 10 p.m. EST on the History Channel.
