Vikings vs. Bears 2020: Prediction, Spread, Over/Under For Monday Night Football Game
The NFL Week 10 schedule concludes with “Monday Night Football” when the Chicago Bears host the Minnesota Vikings. It’s a key matchup between a pair of NFC North rivals who are looking to move into the playoff picture.
Chicago is 1.5 games ahead of Minnesota in the standings. Just because the Bears have a better record, that doesn’t necessarily mean they are considered to be the superior team.
The Vikings are favored on the road Monday night. The Bears are 2.5-point home underdogs, according to betting lines compiled by OddsShark. The over/under is 43.
After a hot start to the 2020 season, Chicago has come crashing down to earth. The Bears are on a three-game losing streak in the midst of the most difficult part of their schedule. Chicago was beaten by the Tennessee Titans 24-17 in Week 9, though the game wasn’t as close as the score might indicate.
After losing five of its first six games, Minnesota is on a two-game winning streak. The Vikings upset the Green Bay Packers with a Week 8 victory. Minnesota handily defeated the Detroit Lions 34-20 in Week 9.
An explosive offense has helped the Vikings right the ship. Minnesota leads the NFL in yards per play. The Vikings are scoring 28.2 points per game over their last five contests.
Dalvin Cook leads the NFC with 858 yards on the ground. Cook has 478 total yards and six touchdowns in the last two games. Kirk Cousins has a passer rating around 140.0 during Minnesota’s winning streak.
Maintaining that pace in Chicago could prove to be nearly impossible.
Cousins is 0-3 against the Bears as the Vikings’ starting quarterback with an average passer rating of 82.5. Minnesota is averaging 12.0 points per game in those losses.
Cook has rushed for just 86 yards on 34 attempts in those games.
The Bears might not have the NFL’s best defense, but it’s arguably the league’s most consistent unit. Chicago ranks in the top nine in points allowed, total yards allowed and yards allowed per play. The Bears are the only team that hasn’t given up more than 26 points in any game.
The Vikings are 0-3 when they score 26 points or fewer.
Minnesota ranks in the bottom 10 in points allowed, total yards allowed and yards allowed per play.
Nick Foles and Chicago’s offense have struggled mightily. They could be just good enough for the Bears to pull off the upset at home.
Prediction: Chicago over Minnesota, 23-20
