Parents are always complaining that their children grow up too fast, but what if it were possible to relish your child's youth and make memories come to life?

That is exactly what a Dutch father and filmmaker named Frans Hofmeester did with his daughter Lotte, now 12-years-old after creating a spectacular time-lapse of her from the day she was born until present day in a video viewed nearly one million times on Vimeo.

Hofmeester filmed his daughter every week for 12 years from the day she was born, and compiled the footage to create a time-lapsed video using Final Cut Pro that runs for just under three minutes. The video takes us through the life of Lotte from wide-eyed-baby to tween, from black-and-white to color.

The two-minute-45-second video has over 971,000 views on Vimeo thanks to a post on social news website Reddit on Sunday.

Hofmeester also made a similar time-lapse film of his son Vince, now 9-years-old, beginning at his birth, which has garnered almost 36,000 views.
