Vlogger Charged With Incest, Allegedly Has Regular Sex With Mom Who Has Dementia

A 39-year-old transgender YouTuber in Greene County, Virginia, was arrested last weekend after she allegedly revealed in leaked audio that she had a sexual relationship with her dementia-ridden mother.

Ruckersville resident Christine Weston Chandler — also known online as Chris Chan — was arrested by the Henrico Police Department Sunday on incest charges, the Greene County Sheriff's Office said in a statement released Monday.

The arrest stemmed from a leaked 9-minute recorded conversation on online messaging platform Discord, where Chandler allegedly explained to an unnamed friend that she has a sexual relationship with her 80-year-old mother, Barbara Chandler, ABC 7 reported.

The mother reportedly has dementia, according to the New York Post.

"We've been doing it every third night [since June]," a person purported to be Chandler could be heard saying in the recording, which was posted on the online forum Kiwi Farms Friday morning, according to Insider.

A text alleged to be from Chandler was posted alongside the recording, saying, "Barb and I just had another romp in the hay."

Under Virginia law, any person who engages in sexual intercourse with their mother or father is guilty of a Class 5 felony.

Chandler, who is autistic and receives disability benefits from the state, has since been removed from Barbara's home, which they have shared since the YouTube personality was a child due to an emergency protection order issued by authorities, as per ABC 7.

A Sunday livestream by Ethan Ralph, a podcaster associated with the alt-right, appeared to show Chandler's arrest outside a hotel in Charlottesville, the Insider report said.

"Everything is going to work out," Chandler told Ralph while appearing to be in handcuffs.

For decades, Chandler has been known in online spaces as the creator of Sonichu, an animated character that's a cross between Pikachu from "Pokemon" and Sonic from "Sonic the Hedgehog," according to Insider. Online discussion about Chandler and her character began around 2000, and her persona became more widely known around 2007.

Chandler has allegedly been the target of online scrutiny and trolling, with several internet users making profiles pretending to be her friends and leaking personal details about her.

She is currently being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail, the Greene County Sheriff's Office said. Police noted that there is an ongoing investigation, and additional charges are pending.
