Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and husband Shelby Bryan have called it quits, a new report said.
Page Six reported, citing an unnamed source, that Wintour and the telecom millionaire have decided to end their 16-year marriage, though the reason for the split has yet to be revealed. Wintour and Bryan have not addressed the rumor.
The Condé Nast artistic director and her husband, who have been together for more than 20 years, had been the subject of split rumors for some time now, with Page Six previously reporting that things had cooled down between them.
Sources claimed to the outlet that Bryan rekindled his romance with his ex-wife, Katherine, whose husband Damon Mezzacappa passed away five years ago. However, anonymous sources close to Katherine shot down these claims.
“Katherine and Shelby have kids together [and] are friends. That’s all,” an insider told Page Six.
The outlet also learned from unnamed sources that Bryan had reportedly been spending time in his home state of Texas during the quarantine.
In November 2019, Page Six reported, citing an anonymous “former Vogue employee,” that Wintour and Bryan’s relationship turned sour in 2013 after it was revealed that the latter owed the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) $1.2 million in back taxes.
“That was the beginning of the end. He started to become a liability. It’s been quite a while since they’ve been seen together,” the source told the outlet.
In February, Page Six reported that Wintour was seen grabbing dinner with actor Bill Nighy, with whom she also was spotted in New York and London plays. During the dinner, she was said to be “happier than I have ever seen her,” an unnamed insider told the outlet.
“Anna was beaming the whole time. She looked happy and in very good company. She was beautifully made-up and she was smiling so much — she had her sunglasses off the entire time! They were sitting together in a corner enjoying a frothy coffee,” the tipster added.
Wintour and Bryan met in 1999, but at the time, they were still married to other people. They exchanged “I do’s” in 2004, but mostly kept their relationship away from the prying eyes.
Wintour has a son, Charles, 35, and daughter, Bea, 33, from her previous marriage to David Shaffer.
