‘The Voice’ Coach Alicia Keys Shares Heartwarming Women’s Day Post On Instagram [PHOTO]
Alicia Keys, who is currently part of the no make-up movement, shared a heartwarming message on International Women’s Day on Instagram.
“The Voice” coach shared an adorable black-and-white photo of her looking lovingly at her 2-year-old son, Genesis. The 36-year-old singer promised fans that she would raise her two sons – Genesis and 6-year-old Egypt – to be powerful men who understand how magnificent women are. On International Women’s Day, the songstress said that women all over the world should be honored like Goddesses.
The “Girl On Fire” singer urged women to lift each other up.
She is married to music producer Swizz Beatz.
The “If I Ain’t Got You” singer also shared a boomerang video showing what being a woman feels like to her.
Last week, Keys appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC and was a part of the Wheel of Musical Impressions. The game involves pairing a random singer with a random song. A person has to then enact how the selected singer would sing the selected song.
Keys expertly sang “Miss Mary Mack” as Gwen Stefani and “The Alphabet Song” in Adele’s voice. She finished the segment by signing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” by mimicking Janis Joplin’s voice. On the other hand, Fallon sang the “State Farm” jingle as (one of the) The Pointer Sisters and the “Meow Mix” jingle as Elvis Presely. Watch the video below:
Keys is currently appearing in public sans make-up. She penned a letter back in May explaining her decision to sport the au naturel look, “This was the harsh, judgmental world of entertainment and my biggest test yet,” she wrote, “I started, more than ever, to become a chameleon. Never fully being who I was, but constantly changing so all the ‘they’s’ would accept me.” She explained, “I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”
“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
