‘The Voice’ Judges Season 22: Who Will Camila Cabello Replace In 2022?
When “The Voice” begins its 22nd season, viewers and contestants will have a panel full of famous judges. A new face joins the panel, as singer Camila Cabello will be a judge on NBC's popular singing competition.
Each season, a new judge often joins the group, and this time around, the Cuban-born American singer will be seated among the coaches in one of the coveted red chairs.
Cabello will be challenged with the task of convincing talented contestants to join her team and act as a mentor as they compete for the title of “The Voice.”
Cabello will replace Season 21 judge Kelly Clarkson and make her debut on the 2022 panel alongside returning coaches Blake Shelton and John Legend.
Gwen Stefani, who has appeared on the judges’ panel throughout the years, will also return to replace Season 21 judge Ariana Grande.
The news about Cabello joining the competition was shared on Sunday in a post from the official Twitter account of “The Voice.”
In the video, the “Don’t Go Yet” singer was welcomed into the new position in a collaboration on a verse from the 2007 hit song “Grace Kelly” by Mika.
“Give a warm welcome to your Voice Coaches. #TheVoice returns this fall with @blakeshelton, @johnlegend, @gwenstefani, and @Camila_Cabello,” the tweet read.
Cabello got her start in music by competing on the Fox singing competition “The X Factor.” The “Havana” singer was placed into a girl group with Lauren Jauregui, Normani, Ally Brooke, and Dinah Jane, which would later become Fifth Harmony.
Cabello eventually left the group for a solo career and recently starred in the Amazon film production of “Cinderella.”
The announcement of Cabello’s spot on the judges’ panel comes days after Clarkson hinted she wouldn’t be returning to “The Voice” for another season.
During an interview with radio host Elvis Duran, Clarkson revealed she planned to a break over the summer.
“I turned 40 and you know what I’m giving myself for 40? I literally said ‘no’ to everything this summer. I will not do anything this summer. Since I was 16 years old, I haven’t had a summer off. This is my first summer off. I am taking time,” she told the host.
Production for “The Voice” typically begins in the summer, with the Blind Auditions airing months later.
“The Voice” Season 22 is expected to premiere this fall.
