“The Voice” Season 17 has just begun, but contestants already have their eyes on the grand prize. Within the next few weeks, the blind auditions will wrap up, and the competition will begin.

The aspiring artists will go through a series of battle rounds, knockout rounds, and eliminations. The top 4 contestants will go on to compete in the finale for the title of “The Voice” and an unforgettable first place prize.

Judges Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend will be on hand this season to guide the contestants to victory. However, only one artist can come out on top, and that particular individual will be awarded a life-changing opportunity.

According to Taste of Country, past winners of “The Voice” have received the coveted “V” trophy, a $100,000 cash prize, and a record deal. However, the win doesn’t secure the contestant’s future as a successful artist.

Specific details about the contracts signed by “The Voice” contestants have been kept under wraps. When contestants appear on the show, they must agree to keep details about their contract confidential, or risk being sued from anywhere between $100,000 to $1 million.

Although the winner receives a life-changing opportunity, the real work starts after the show is over. Along with trying to stay relevant following their big win, the new artists must get to work and try to release chart-topping hits.

Fans of the series know that winners of “The Voice” haven’t experienced the same success as “American Idol” alums, like Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson. However, there is still hope for the NBC contestants.

Following a victory on “The Voice,” most winners continue to be mentored by the coach who helped them win. After placing first in the competition, the winner typically returns to the next season to promote their new music and offer advice to the contestants.

“The Voice” Season 17 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
