‘The Voice’ Season 20: What Does The Winner Get?
“The Voice” Season 20 is finally here, which means fans will be introduced to a new pool of talented singers. Like previous seasons, judges Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Nick Jonas will be tasked with coaching the amateur singers and eventually guide one to victory.
Once the coaches fill out their teams during the blind auditions, contestants will compete in battle rounds and knockout round eliminations. However, it will ultimately be the votes from viewers that will decide which aspiring artist will walk away with the grand prize.
At the end of each season, the first-place winner typically receives $100,000 and a record deal.
“The Voice” Season 18 winner, Todd Tilghman won a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract, People previously reported.
Following his big win, Tilghman revealed he would be using some of his prize money to take his wife and his eight kids on a vacation to Disney World.
At the time, the singer’s wife promised the children they would go to the resort if their father won the NBC singing competition. “We’re going to have to figure out this Disney thing because of my wife and her mouth,” Tilghman joked.
However, winners of the NBC singing competition should prepare themselves to work hard if they want to succeed in the music industry. In 2019, Season 11 winner Sundance Head claimed staying famous and making music after the season finale is difficult.
“I have had no support from ‘The Voice’ at all. They haven’t even retweeted that I had a single out to radio or that my new record dropped, nothing. I don’t know why,” he told The Washington Post.
“I’m not sure what I did. . . . I do find it kind of odd, but I can’t really get upset about it. They don’t owe me anything.”
“The Voice” Season 20 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
