'The Voice' Viewers Slam 'Disappointing' Top 5 Finalists After Votes Eliminate Fan Favorites

The Top 5 finalists of "The Voice" Season 22 have been chosen, but the results have caused some outraged fans to lash out at the NBC singing competition on Twitter.
On Tuesday night, the Top 8 contestants became the Top 5 when three singers were eliminated. While the show is supposed to send singers home, the three eliminated contestants were arguably the strongest vocalists.
After viewers voted, Morgan Myles from Team Camila and Team Blake's Bryce Leatherwood, Brayden Lape, and Bodie advanced to the final round.
However, Justin Aaron from Team Gwen, Team Legend's Parijita Bastola, Kim Cruse, and Omar Jose Cardona were left battling for the final spot in the Instant Save round.
After Omar emerged as the victor, fans of "The Voice" voiced their fury that some of the season's most talented singers, who were also minorities, had to compete over one spot.
Many fans took to Twitter, slamming the show for allowing the remaining contestants to advance to the finals.
"I can accept Morgan and Bodie. But, if this is really #TheVoice, then the other finalists should have been from teams @johnlegend & @gwenstefani 'Stunned' doesn't begin to describe how I feel about what happened. @NBCTheVoice," one person wrote.
I’m boycotting the finale of @NBCTheVoice. I’ll go on the app and vote for the best vocalist, Omar. But I refuse to add to their ratings. I’m sorry @johnlegend I support you and your artists, but The Voice is dead to me. #TheVoice

@johnlegend #TheVoice so disappointed and upset with the bottom 4 who should all have been the top 4. #TeamLegend was robbed.

Everyone who’s watched @NBCTheVoice over the years knows just how racist it is, and how it most adversely affects black women. Last night was the last straw. Contestants don’t speak out for fear of jeopardizing their careers but the show must change #TheVoiceSoWhite #TheVoice

#TheVoice I'm done with the voice, it's not about talent!!

I have been a fan of #thevoice since day 1. After last night, I am Done! That was horrible.

Y’all will continue to hear me talk about how Parijita and Kim were robbed until Parijita gets herself a diamond record. I am not sorry. #thevoice

I think the fact that #thevoice opens up their voting BEFORE the contestants even perform tilts towards it being a popularity contest. That's disappointing. @NBCTheVoice

Four people of color with amazing voices, arguably the best voices this season, had to battle one another for one spot in the finale. Racism is alive and well in America and @NBCTheVoice promotes this sick attitude. Blake leaving is too little too late. #TheVoice pic.twitter.com/yqfawMVfI6

Another person suggested the voting system for the show was flawed. "I think a big problem with #thevoice voting is you can vote for multiple people, so Blake fans are all voting for only his team. You should only be able to vote for one artist," the individual wrote.
The Top 5 Finalists will begin their battle for the grand prize of a record deal next week.
Part one of "The Voice" Season 22 live finale airs Monday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
