Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) and Landon Carter (Shane West) were first introduced in the movie, “A Walk to Remember” in 2002. Warner Bros.

It’s been 15 long years since “A Walk to Remember” was released in theaters in the United States. Cast members Mandy Moore and Shane West look back at the successful movie that all started with Nicholas Spark’s novel.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Moore recalled what it was like meeting West for the first time. According to the “This Is Us” actress, West was very cool not only in the way that he dressed, but his overall personality. “He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him,” she said.

West also revealed that there was another actress who was up for the role of Jamie Sullivan. Luckily, the role was given to Moore, and West was very happy because the “Candy” singer blended right into her character. “She’s perfect for the role,” he said.

Meanwhile, Moore and West also participated in a pop quiz conducted by the publication to check how well they still remember their characters and lines from the movie. Moore was asked to recall three of Jamie’s goals, and the actress remembered her character wanted to be in two places at once. “To witness a miracle,” she continued before saying that the third had to do with seeing stars. When it was West’s turn, the actor had a more difficult time refreshing his memory. He clarified that it’s because he remembers more things about Moore’s character because “A Walk to Remember” was actually about her.

“I’m remember all of her stuff: two places at once… See that’s the whole thing: The reason I can’t even remember it is because it’s all about her – which is a telling story about men and women. It was about making her happy. And honestly, a lot of the Landon storylines – I don’t remember,” he said.
