‘Walking Dead’ Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 10 Synopsis Released Online; What Will Happen In ‘Them’? [PHOTOS & VIDEO]
Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” returned last week, reuniting viewers with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the survivors after a hiatus of a couple of months. The midseason premiere brought fans up-to-date on the group’s condition after losing Beth (Emily Kinney), while killing off another major character -- Tyreese (Chad Coleman). Unfortunately, things continue to look grim for the crew as it moves into episode 10, titled “Them.”
A promo video of Sunday night’s episode teases that the survivors will not only feel dispirited after losing two of their group’s members, but also will be desperate for supplies such as water and food. Their car appears to run out of fuel, and they’ll be forced to walk in the open among the zombies.
According to the synopsis for episode 10, the group will feel “beaten after living life on the road.” Viewers know the survivors have not had a real safe haven since the fall of the prison. Although their goal was to seek shelter at Terminus, that so-called sanctuary turned out to be a trap set by cannibals. They were able to set up a minicamp at Father Gabriel’s church, but, in the midseason finale, walkers overran the building.
The topic of establishing a home was brought up in episode 9 when Michonne (Danai Gurira) begged Rick to settle down at Noah’s (Tyler James Williams) old community. Rick refused, citing poor security around the homes as his reason. But the pair were able to agree on continuing their journey to Washington in the hope of finding more survivors, shelter and supplies.
The episode description for “Them” adds that the group “must continue to trudge along in spite of the changes they have incurred.” These changes presumably encompass the deaths of Beth and Tyreese, as well as Eugene’s (Josh McDermitt) exposed lie about Washington.
Season 5, episode 10 of “The Walking Dead” will be shown on AMC Sunday, Feb. 15, at 9 p.m. EST. What do you think will happen in “Them”? Watch the promo video below and tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
