Who will die next on "The Walking Dead"? Sonequa Martin-Green, the actress behind Sasha, revealed that everyone has an "expiration date." AMC

Fans of “The Walking Dead” just said goodbye to the first major casualty in Season 5 -- but are more deaths on the way? Sasha’s Sonequa Martin-Green revealed more bloodshed is to come as the hit AMC series progresses.

The highly anticipated fifth season of “The Walking Dead” premiered in October, introducing viewers to a whole new set of threats. Episode 1 started off with a bang -- literally -- when Carol (Melissa McBride) was forced to explode a gas tank on the Terminus lot, and the Terminus residents were revealed to be cannibals. But no one expected a major death to occur so early on.

While a lot of Terminus folks lost their lives in episode 1, the first character death from Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group of survivors came in episode 3, “Four Walls and a Roof.” In episode 2, Bob (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) was captured by Gareth (Andrew J. West) and the Termites after walking outside the church. The Termites cut off his leg to eat it -- but Bob got the last laugh. At the beginning of episode 3, Bob revealed a bite mark from a walker and told Gareth’s people they had been eating “tainted meat.”

Bob died at the end of the episode, succumbing to his walker bite. Many fans saw it coming, and so did Sonequa Martin-Green. The actress dished to The Hollywood Reporter that while she was “devastated” to lose Lawrence Gilliard Jr. from the set, deaths on the show are part of the norm.

“I found out before the script, which gave me time to prepare and mourn,” Martin-Green said. “The fact that we all have an expiration date is part of the story. It’s the nature of the beast and I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we’ve gotten to a place where we just accept that this is the story we’re telling and this is the nature of it. Nobody is promised tomorrow. Rather than let it make us paranoid, we all use it not just for our characters but to live more in the moment.”

Gilliard Jr.’s Bob was the first to go in Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” -- but he definitely won’t be the last. As TV Line teased prior to the premiere, the “relatively low” major-character-body-count in Season 4 will not be the case for this year. While Martin-Green didn’t hint at whose “expiration date” might be up next, we have some theories:

Glenn

Glenn (Steven Yeun) was nearly executed in the Season 5 premiere but caught a break when Carol attacked Terminus. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean his character is in the clear. Multiple “Walking Dead” fan sites have been reporting the series filmed Glenn’s death scene.

Further speculation on the impending death of Glenn stems from Robert Kirkman’s comic book series. In the graphic novels, Glenn is killed by a villain named Negan. It’s unclear if the AMC show will follow that story line directly, but it’s rumored Negan will be joining the series.

Tyreese

Tyreese (Chad Coleman) has been struggling with killing humans and walkers alike since joining the series. In the Season 5 premiere he spared the life of one of the Terminus residents and that ended up backfiring -- could his difficulty with engaging in violence be his downfall?

Episode 4 of “The Walking Dead” Season 5 will air on AMC on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 9 p.m. EST. Who do you think will be killed off “The Walking Dead” next? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
