‘Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: What To Expect After That Shocking Midseason Finale [VIDEO]
Rick is ready for war … finally. AMC’s “The Walking Dead” aired its Season 7 midseason finale Sunday night, and after repeatedly getting tortured by Negan and The Saviors, Rick is ready to gather everyone together to take him down.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait over a month until new episodes of the series air, but creator Robert Kirkman and star Norman Reedus stopped by the “Talking Dead” to share a few spoilers for what’s ahead.
According to E! Online, most of their conversation on the “Talking Dead” centered around Spencer’s (Austin Nichols) death. However, Kirkman did reveal that the person in the boots who was spying on Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) at the end of the midseason finale is the same person that was watching Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Aaron (Ross Marquand) while they were at the boathouse. “That’s a big part of what we’re dealing with when we come back next half of the season, so we’ll be revealing that soon,” he said. “It’s going to be a great half season.”
Kirkman also said everyone will be ready to kick Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) butt when the show returns. “Rick Grimes is back to being Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon back to being Daryl Dixon,” he said. “Whole group back together.”
Reedus added that although his character will be ready to “kill someone,” Daryl is still trying to deal with the deaths of Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). “You know, it’s always been in the back of my mind that I hope Maggie forgives me. … I think he’s going through a whole bunch of stuff right now, but I think he’s ready to kill someone,” he said.
In a preview of the remainder of the season (seen above), Rick tells the people at Alexandria, The Kingdom and the Hilltop that they should all come together to fight Negan and The Saviors. “We already started this and we’re gonna win,” Rick says. “Whatever it takes.”
“The Walking Dead” will return with new episodes in February.
