Wall Street flat after ISM data
Stocks stayed little changed on Wednesday after data showed the services sector expanded marginally in December following a surprise contraction in November.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> edged up 3.40 points, or 0.03 percent, to 10,575.42. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dipped 0.82 point, or 0.07 percent, to 1,135.70. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> rose 0.07 point, or 0.00 percent, to 2,308.78.
The Institute for Supply Management non-manufacturing index rose to 50.1 in December, showing expansion, but was slightly below the 50.5 forecast by economists.
Earlier Wednesday, the ADP Employer Services report showed U.S. private employers shed 84,000 jobs in December, less than a revised 145,000 in November but more than the 73,000 forecast by economists.
