Wall Street opens weaker after Fed move
Stocks slipped on Friday after an unexpected increase in the Federal Reserve's discount rate suggested the central bank may be starting to retreat from its easy money policy.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> eased 25.62 points, or 0.25 percent, to 10,367.28. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dipped 3.52 points, or 0.32 percent, to 1,103.23. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was off 7.58 points, or 0.34 percent, to 2,234.13.
