Wall Street pares losses after data
Wall Street pared losses on Friday after a survey showed consumers felt more confident about the economy last month than at any time since the September failure of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc
The Reuters/University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers said its final index of confidence climbed to 65.1 in April from 57.3 in March.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 10.75 points, or 0.13 percent, to 8,157.37. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 0.22 points, or 0.03 percent, to 872.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was off 4.29 points, or 0.25 percent, to 1,713.01.
