Disney fans, rejoice! The mass media organization has finally confirmed the release date of the highly-anticipated Disney+ series “WandaVision” on social media and it is coming sooner than anyone ever expected.
In a video posted on their official Twitter handle, Disney gave the fans a look at all the movies and TV series that would be coming to the streaming service in 2020 and people got a pleasant surprise when they saw the name of “WandaVision” in the clip. However, an exact release date has still not been announced.
The video also gave a sneak peek of what the viewers can expect from the show. An artwork from the show was revealed in the video which shows the comic book characters Wanda and Vision sitting on a couch and dressed up in an attire that makes it seem like the show is set in the 1950s.
The news came as a pleasant surprise to everyone because Marvel previously announced the show will stream live on Disney+ in 2021. Starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany as Vision, it’s said that it will fully explore Wanda’s powers. Scarlet Witch will also appear in “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness,” so people can expect the series to connect to the movie.
Last year at the Comic-Con in Brazil, Marvel boss Kevin Feige noted that he is particularly really excited about the project because people don’t know the real Wanda and having the opportunity to tell more of her story with Vision in the mix is something that we are pretty excited for.
“Most importantly, reveal a name that I’m not even sure we’ve said in the MCU yet, but we absolutely make a big deal of in the show, which is that Wanda is, in fact, the Scarlet Witch. What does that mean, that she is the Scarlet Witch? And that’s what we play into in this show,” Feige said.
Meanwhile, Olsen, while making an appearance at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, revealed that the show would go deep into the lives of Wanda and Vision.
“We are gonna go deep, we are going to have a lot of surprises, and we are gonna finally understand Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch," Olsen said.
