Want To Buy An Electric Car? Here Is The Most Inexpensive EV Available In 2022
Electric vehicles at one point seemed far from reach with some of the highest price tags in the car industry. But now in 2022, that is not the case anymore.
Automakers are working on making EVs more affordable than ever.
The most affordable EV in the U.S. is the 2022 Nissan Leaf, which has a retail price of $28,375. The price also went down from last year’s version which retailed around $32,500. The price cut may be an indication of how automakers are understanding the growing competition.
Nissan says that it was able to bring the price down without taking out any of the car additions like comfort and technologies.
The first Leaf was offered in 2010 and has come a long way. In 2010, it was only capable of 73 miles through the electric battery. In 2022, the “Standard Leaf” offers about 149 miles.
The Leaf S Plus, which retails for $33,375, can reach up to 226 miles through the electric battery.
Other inexpensive EVs in 2022 include the Mini Cooper Electric SE Signature for $30,750, the Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT for $31,995, the Chevrolet Bolt EUV 1LT for $33,995, the Mazda MX-30 EV for $34,645, and the Hyundai Kona Electric SEL: $35,185.
