Warner Bros Animation Finalizes Voice Cast For 'Batman: Soul of the Dragon'

Warner Bros Animation’s upcoming feature "Batman: Soul of the Dragon" has got the fans going crazy after the voice cast to the iconic characters were finalized.
In the star-studded line-up, David Giuntoli will voice Bruce Wayne/Batman and Michael Jai White will make his come back as Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger after playing the live version on CW’s "Arrow." Kelly Hu who played China White on "Arrow" will voice Lady Shiva, and Mark Dacascos is voicing Richard Dragon. James Hong will voice O-Sensei and Josh Keaton will give voice to Jeffrey Burr.
"Batman: Soul of the Dragon" is set in the 1970’s. The film will tell an original tale and will have no connection to comic book events. In the feature, Bruce Wayne/Batman is set to uncover the unknown mystery behind the disappearance of his martial arts trainer.
The Dark Knight is accompanied by his former classmates, Richard Dragon, Ben Turner, and Lady Shiva on his crusade to "face a deadly menace from his past," a report from the Hollywood Reporter said.
In "Batman: Soul of the Dragon," Batman is said to trade off his signature Batmobile and Batarang for his martial arts skills. He alongside his former classmates will fight to regain control of the relic, according to Screenrant. The cast list has not revealed the villain in the film as yet.
Speculations aroused alleging that the film is inspired by Dennis O' Neil's comic book series "Richard Dragon: Kung-Fu Fighter."
The iconic characters Bronze Tiger, Richard Dragon, and Lady Shiva made their DC debuts in this series. All these characters along with the Dark Knight are considered as the best martial artists in the DC Universe.
Although their individual relationship with Batman has also been told through various DC presentations, "The Batman: Soul of the Dragon" will also explore the Dark Knight’s past with his three classmates.
Director Sam Liu of the "Batman: The Killing Joke" and "Reign of the Supermen" fame will be directing the feature while screenwriter Jeremy Adams who wrote "Lego DC Batman: Family Matters" will be penning the script.
The feature will be executive produced by Bruce Timm who is one among the writers of the "Batman: The Animated Series."
Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will be producing the film. This animation feature is the 42nd project in the ongoing DC Universe Movies series.
Meanwhile, WarnerMedia has announced a new strategy according to which at least 800 employees in the Warner Bros. and HBO divisions will lose their jobs.
"Batman: Soul of the Dragon" is set to release on digital and Blu-ray in 2021.
