Warner Bros Thinking Of Moving 'Wonder Woman 1984,' 'Dune' Release Dates

Fans who are eagerly waiting for “Wonder Woman 1984” to hit the theaters might need to wait a little longer because Warner Bros. is thinking of moving the release date for the highly-anticipated movie once again.

According to sources, the production giant might be planning to move the Oct. 2 release date for the movie helmed by Patty Jenkins, IndieWire reported. The sources also shared that “Wonder Woman 1984” might release in November or late December.

Apart from “WW 84,” the company might also take “Dune” out of its Dec. 18 weekend. As per sources, Denis Villeneuve’s much-awaited reboot might get a 2021 release.

One of the reasons for moving the dates is Christopher Nolan’s film “Tenet.” The movie theaters in New York and Los Angeles have not opened their doors for the general public since the outbreak. “Tenet” is a big project for WB and it would want the movie to rake in big numbers for them and that’s why the production company might be forced to take such a drastic step, according to Deadline.

“Wonder Woman 1984” was delayed a couple of times long before the pandemic, but the global health crisis is responsible for the last two moves. Originally set for a June release, the Gal Gadot starrer was pushed to August. However, the movie is still scheduled to release in October.

WB recently released an action-packed trailer for the second movie in the “Wonder Woman” franchise at the DC Comics’ FanDome event. The trailer garnered a lot of attention and also introduced Kristen Wiig as Cheetah. Interestingly, the trailer came out with no release date.

As far as “Tenet” is concerned, the movie has breached the $100 million mark at the global box office. The movie has been released in more than 70 international markets including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Canada, Korea, France, Italy, Japan, and Russia. Meanwhile, it opened in China on Sept. 3.

The movie stars John David Washington in the lead role and the cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine, Clemence Poesy, Himesh Patel, and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles.
