Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is not worried for now about Kevin Durant's future as he is focused on the upcoming 2018/19 NBA season.

Durant signed a one-plus-one contract this summer that will keep him in the Bay Area at least until 2019, where he can then become an unrestricted free agent and join any team of his liking.

The 29-year-old has signed one-plus-one contracts before with the Warriors. However, there are rumors and speculation that after winning two championships and two NBA Finals MVP awards, he may be looking for a new challenge.

Durant has been linked with a move to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he would potentially team up with LeBron James, as well as a move to the New York Knicks, who will have the cap space next year and are located in the biggest market in the world.

On the other hand, the Warriors will be able to obtain his Bird rights after next season which allows them to offer him a five-year, supermax contract.

Regardless of what happens, Kerr is not focused on Durant's future as of now.

"You don’t worry about that," Kerr recently said. "This year is this year. We’ll worry about all that stuff later on when the time comes. This is about this season. We’ll see where it goes."

Kerr will be looking to guide the Warriors to a fourth championship in five years and will have the added boost of All-Star DeMarcus Cousins, who signed a one-year deal earlier in the summer.

Cousins has been out since January though, as he suffered a torn Achilles tendon, and is only expected back in December at the earliest. Kerr's replacement options until then are one of Kevon Looney, Jordan Bell and Damian Jones.

"All three of them are very different, which we like. But we’re anxious to see DJ," Kerr added. "He’s worked hard in Santa Cruz and he’s incredibly explosive and powerful. It’ll be fun to throw him out there with our four All-Stars and see what he can do."

Once fit though, Cousins will definitely feature in a starting lineup that will consist of five All-Stars, and Kerr is excited to see how things pan out.

"DeMarcus gives us a dynamic we haven’t really had, a really dominant big man," Kerr explained. "I think our players will take a lot of joy out of helping DeMarcus come back from the injury and helping him rebound and get his career back on track and in turn lean on him to help us win again. I think it’s going to be a really good scene for our season."

The Warriors will begin their 2018/19 campaign Oct. 16 when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder.
