Warriors Rumors: 'Something Changed' In Kevin Durant In Past Few Days
The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of losing the NBA Finals, and reports claimed that something must have changed in Kevin Durant’s status over the past few days.
After four games, Warriors fans are still hoping for a Durant appearance in the finals. The team has suffered a 3-1 deficit in the series against Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors. Now, it seems like there is another thing that should concern the Warriors aside from figuring out a way to win the final three games of the series.
While everybody is holding their breath for an update on the superstar’s recovery, it seems like there is more to worry about than just basketball. According to Clutch Points, “something changed” in Durant’s status in the last few days.
Tim Kawakami of The Athletic reported on the latest issue about Durant’s status, revealing that the reigning Finals MVP has displayed some noticeable changes in the past few days. But because he hardly shows up in public, it is really hard to determine the root of all this.
“But there are signals. There are hints that something changed somewhere in the last few days, maybe involving the recovery or the doctors or Durant’s decision-making process,” Kawakami noted.
“And it’s hard to get a real read from Durant because he’s dropped back mostly out of sight the last few days and he doesn’t sit on the bench during games the way Thompson and Looney did when they missed Game 3,” Kawakami added.
The statement suggested that after getting his sudden injury, Durant realized something that may have affected him in almost all aspects.
Just a few days ago, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith unveiled a very powerful statement pertaining to Durant’s free agency decision. On Friday’s edition of “First Take”, Smith directly stated what he was told regarding the issue, NBC Sports reported.
"Kevin, I was told, if the Warriors win, KD leaves. If they lose, he stays," Smith said.
With free agency approaching, it is safe to assume that teams are now blowing Durant’s phone every now and then to make their best offers. Not to mention the fact that he is still trying to recover from an injury that made him miss the most crucial games of the playoffs while the Golden State Warriors are on the brink of losing the NBA Finals.
From the looks of how things are going, it appears that the 30-year-old NBA superstar is currently starting to experience some pressure coming from all angles of his situation.
