Washington Redskins vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Watch Live Stream Online, Prediction, Preview, Robert Griffin To Sit Against the Buccaneers
As both teams rest their starters in preparation for the regular season, the Washington Redskins take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday night at FedEx Field.
The final preseason game for both teams kicks-off at 7pm eastern time, and you can watch streaming online here.
Washington rookie quarterback Robert Griffin will not play Thursday, along with many Redskins starters. Griffin played well in Washington's 30-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last week. He completed 11 passes on 17 attempts for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Back-up quarterback Rex Grossman solidified his role versus the Colts, finishing 8-for-8 for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins, a rookie out of Michigan State, will start against the Buccaneers. Cousins was outstanding against the Chicago Bears in Week 2 of the preseason. He went 18-for-23 for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
Cousins will have one less veteran target against the Buccaneers, as Washington cut tight end Chris Cooley Tuesday. Cooley had the most receptions for a tight end in the Redskins history with 428, but only played in five games last season and made eight receptions.
Rookie running back Alfred Morris also will not play tonight, which many speculate as a sign the Florida Atlantic product will make the roster. In his place will be Evan Royster and veteran Tim Hightower who are listed as probable.
The Buccaneers will also rest their rookie running back Doug Martin, who has played so well head coach Greg Schiano promoted him to starter over veteran LeGarrette Blount.
Martin gained 53 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown in Tampa's 30-28 victory over the New England Patriots last week.
Quarterback Josh Freeman went 10-for-19 for 102 yards, and receiver Vincent Jackson grabbed three balls for 49 yards against New England.
Tampa Bay placed right guard Davin Joseph on injured reserve after he broke his kneecap against the Patriots. The Buccaneers have several players in the mix to take over while Joseph is out. Ted Larsen, Jamon Meredith and Derek Hardman could all see action on the offensive line Wednesday.
Prediction: While this game has the potential to be sloppy, it will be hard fought since most players will be fighting for a regular season roster spot. If the Buccaneers pass rush is effective against Cousins, the Redskins could be in for a long night.
Predicted Score: Tampa Bay 27, Washington 17
