Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin -- A man attempted to break a local jewelry store's case before he got chased out by an employee, footage released by police showed.

The man, who has yet to be identified, walked into the Kay Jewelers branch located 15 miles outside Milwaukee at around 1 p.m. on June 1 and used a brick he had pulled out of his pocket to repeatedly smash one of the store's cases, the New York Post reported.

He ended up banging the brick at the case nine times before one of the jewelry shop's employees chased him out of the establishment with a metal pole, a clip of the incident publicly released by the Menomonee Falls Police Department (MFPD) showed.

The man, wearing a red shirt and sunglasses at the time, was reportedly last seen taking off in a tan Chevrolet Malibu without a license plate.

No one got injured during the attempted robbery, a report by Fox 6 said.

The MFPD hoped the footage of the incident could help authorities track down the man, believed to be between 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build and "medium skin tone." He also had a beard and tattoos on his right arm.

"We’d still like to find out who this is and make an arrest," Captain Gene Neyhart said.

The official was confident someone out there knew who the man was, so he urged the people with information to call the police department or make an anonymous tip to Waukesha County Crime Stoppers.

A similar incident in another Kay Jewelers in Pennsylvania earlier this month, resulted in multiple people stealing more than $42,000 worth of accessories.

Two women stole $42,000 worth of rings, bracelets and necklaces from the Kay Jewelers branch on Walmart Drive in Fayette County's South Union Township at around 12:15 p.m. on July 8, authorities said.

The women took the merchandise while distracting an employee, surveillance footage showed.

In addition to the two women, police were looking for two men believed to have come with the women when they entered the jewelry store.

Anyone with information regarding the Pennsylvania robbery can contact state police at 800-4PA-TIPS (800-472-8477).
