Watch As ‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Shares ‘Unfairness’ Of Plural Marriage Relationship
The newest season of “Sister Wives” will only be getting started on TLC on Feb. 14, but it’s clear the drama will be hitting the Brown family early on as they tackle their continued issues living separate lives in Flagstaff—and are also thrown by the Coronavirus pandemic.
In one preview clip for the Season 15 premiere, Kody, Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn are all out to eat at a restaurant, pre-pandemic, when Janelle asks everyone a hard-hitting question about why they entered the principle—a shortened term for their belief in plural marriage. The wives all then take turns explaining what drew them into the relationship they all share, but Kody surprises everyone after he speaks up, seeming to acknowledge for the first time that the dynamic of their relationship is one that doesn’t favor his wives.
“I’ve thought about this a lot lately, because I told friends recently that I didn’t want to be an advocate of plural marriage anymore, because I'm more aware now than I ever was before of the apparent and obvious unfairness of the relationship,” he says.
What fans don’t know is how his wives will react to his statement, but it seems that the conversation will veer towards the separation they’ve had since heading to Flagstaff, as a later part of the scene is shown in another clip, and Janelle reveals that they don’t feel like the same family they used to, in either Utah or Las Vegas.
“it started feeling different the minute we moved,” she says.
Other highly charged moments fans were already aware of from the season teaser are also teased in the clip, including the family’s earliest dealings with the pandemic, Meri’s failed attempt to have some intimacy with Kody and Christine breaking down about the state of her marriage and insisting she wants to move back to Utah.
However, not everything will be dramatic, as another happy occasion pre-pandemic will also take place, with Janelle’s daughter Maddie and her husband Caleb heading to see the family in Arizona from their North Carolina home and introducing their daughter, Evie, to the rest of the family.
The Season 15 premiere of “Sister Wives” airs Sunday, Feb. 14 at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
