Wayne Brady Booed For Making Offensive Joke At Roaseanne Roast
Comedian Wayne Brady is in a bit of trouble regarding comments he made about Sarah Palin's son, Trig, according to TMZ. The funnyman referenced the former governor's son during the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne. Palin's son, who suffers from Down Syndrome, was born in 2008.
The joke itself (which was roundly met with a chorus of boos) was the following: "Now the thing is Jeff ... these are all jokes, and I really like you. I really, really like you. But a lot of people hate you, especially Sarah Palin because you remind her of what Trig is going to look like when he's 40."
Jeff, in this case, is Jeffrey Ross, the comedian who found himself in hot water for the very same roast, when it came to comments made about the Aurora, Colo. shooting. His joke, regarding actor Seth Green, "Seth, congratulations. This is actually a great night for you," said Ross. "You haven't gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora. ... I'm kidding. You are not like James Holmes. At least he did something in a movie theater that people remember!"
Ross' joke, unlike Brady's, was cut from the broadcast, out of respect for the individuals who lost their lives in the tragic shooting.
Brady responded to the crowd with slight anger and resentment, saying "Oh, now you boo me? F--- y'all. I don't want to hear that. These people say all of this sh-- about me, and you boo me because of Trig?"
