WB Montreal Hints At 'Two-Face,' 'Batgirl In New 'Batman' Teaser
KEY POINTS
- Hints are pointing that Two-Face and Batgirl might be in the new "Batman" game by WB Montreal
- A second code unlocked by Twitter users showed a map with a "Face Two Face" text
- A Reddit user who claimed to have decoded all four codes discovered Batgirl as a potential character
- All four codes combined came up with the barcode of Detective Comics #359, the debut of Batgirl
Ahead of the game's big reveal at DC FanDome on August 22, fans have uncovered two potential characters that could be introduced in Warner Bros. Montreal's “Gotham Knight,” the studio's first solid title in five years.
WB Montreal is no stranger when it comes to teasers as they have been doing so since last year. The first came after “skilled Twitter users” were able to crack a code on r3dak3d.com that led to a possible Court of Owls debut.
The studio's second teaser also gave fans a challenge but once they have decoded the numbers, another icon appeared. Tweak Town said the new reveal is another enemy faction, but they're not closing any doors on any additional rumors. It may be Talons, a group of highly-trained assassins employed by the Court, or it could be something that could mark the return of Two-Face, considering the “Face Two Face” text found on the hinted map.
Another speculation about the upcoming “Gotham Knights” game is that it could have Batgirl as a playable character. According to Video Games Chronicles, a Reddit user claimed to have cracked all four codes and when combined, came up with the barcode number for the debut comic book featuring the caped heroine.
Batman Arkham Videos posted the theory on their Twitter page and pointed out that all of the codes that were used to unlock the teasers on r3dak3d.com came up with “761941354995,” the European Article Number (EAN) for Detective Comics #359, said Dual Shockers.
A follow-up tweet also claimed that Discord user Gydra noticed that the comic book cover that debut Batgirl is strikingly similar to the cover of Issue #43 of “Batman: Gotham Knights.” Another coincidence the group pointed is that WB Montreal developed Batgirl DLC for “Batman: Arkham Knight.”
Aside from the first icon the studio teased last year, two more have been uncovered. While there is no official word from WB Montreal, all roads lead to a somewhat unconfirmed but exciting fact that fans might just see the Court of Owls, Ra's al-Ghul of the League of Assassins and Two-Face in one setting. There is also a rumor that “Gotham Knights” will have four playable characters including, of course, Batman, Nightwing, Robin and Batgirl.
