Webby Awards 2011
The 15th annual Webby Awards were held last night at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom. The award show was hosted by actress Lisa Kudrow and honored the best of the Internet, including Websites, interactive advertising and media, online film and video, and mobile and app, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Columnist Dan Savage took home a special recognition award for his It Gets Better Project founded last year. Tracy Morgan can suck my..., Savage said while accepting the award. Savage first began the campaign last year in response to an overwhelming number of teenage suicides caused by anti-gay bullying, Reuters reports.
The evening's winners also included Will Ferrell and his Funny or Die co-founders Adam McKay and Chris Henchy. Although acceptance speeches were limited to five words, Ferrell delivered a haiku.
