The wedding rumors of Sir Paul McCartney with girlfriend Nancy Shevell has been shot down by the former Beatle singer, according to E! Online.

There's no truth to it, says publicist Paul Freundlich.

Sunday Mirror and Sunday Telegraph both reported that McCartney received approval from his children if he did indeed want to go ahead with the marriage.

Even though the newspapers claimed that NY State Supreme Court granted Shevell a divorce ending a 23-year union with Bruce Blakeman on December 9, neither cited any public legal documents.

The couple has known each other for almost 30 years before they were photographed kissing outside a Long Island sushi restaurant in November 2007, according to British tabloids.
