‘The Wedding Veil’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast
Hallmark Channel is continuing its slate of new 2022 films with another strong entry in the “New Year, New Movies” lineup. “The Wedding Veil,” which will be the first film of a new trilogy for the network, is next up, starring Lacey Chabert and Kevin McGarry.
Fans certainly recognize both stars, even if they somehow have not yet starred in a project together. Chabert is a Hallmark staple, having starred in numerous titles over the years. Among her more recent titles have been “Moonlight in Vermont,” “All of My Heart: Inn Love,” “The Sweetest Christmas,” “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” “My Secret Valentine,” “Love on Safari,” “All of My Heart: The Wedding,” “Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe,” “Love, Romance & Chocolate,” “Christmas in Rome,” “Winter in Vail,” “The Christmas Waltz,” “Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas,” “Sweet Carolina” and “Christmas at Castle Hart.”
As for McGarry, he is another familiar presence on Hallmark, mainly through his role as Nathan on “When Calls the Heart” and “When Hope Calls.” He has also starred in a few films on the network as well though, including “Love at First Bark,” “A Song for Christmas,” “Winter Castle” and “Winter Love Story.”
Autumn Reeser (“The 27-Hour Day”) and Alison Sweeney (“Open By Christmas”) also star.
So what can fans expect in this film? Let’s find out.
“Avery (Chabert), Emma (Reeser) and Tracy (Sweeney) are three close, but far-flung college friends who reunite in different cities every year to go antiquing. During a visit to San Francisco, they discover an extraordinary, antique lace wedding veil with a legend—it is said that whoever possesses the veil will find their true love,” a synopsis reads. “The friends agree to purchase the veil together and pass it along to each other to test whether or not the legend is true. Romantic curator Avery is the first to take possession and very soon after meets a handsome stranger, Peter (McGarry).”
Quickly, things seem off to a good start, though some misunderstanding soon leads Avery to doubt the veil’s magic.
“As they spend a carefree day together at a local museum, they share some uncanny coincidence that have Avery wondering if it’s fate,” the synopsis continues. “When a misunderstanding leads Peter to give her the cold-shoulder, Avery resolves to put him out of her mind...only for him to show up at her job back in Boston. It turns out that Peter is from a very well-known philanthropic family and the newest board member at the museum where she works.”
Soon, the magic once again seems to work, and Avery soon finds herself potentially falling in love.
“When they uncover a long-lost painting from a 19th-century Italian master, Peter works closely with Avery on a special gala to unveil its restoration,” the synopsis reads. “As the project brings the pair closet and they start to clear the air, they find the coincidence they share just might be the veil, working its magic.”
“The Wedding Veil” premieres Saturday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
