After nearly two months, NXT scored its first ratings victory over AEW ahead of WWE Survivor Series.

Wednesday’s episode of NXT served as the show’s go-home episode before a packed weekend with NXT TakeOver: WarGames on Saturday and WWE Survivor Series on Sunday. According to ShowbuzzDaily, NXT managed to pull in 916,000 viewers, marking its first ratings win since moving live to USA Network in October. The episode was punctuated by several matches pitting NXT stars against invading stars from Raw and SmackDown, including Becky Lynch taking on Rhea Ripley and the Undisputed Era vs. The Revival.

AEW Dynamite was not far behind, as it pulled in 893,000 viewers for another positively received episode. While it didn’t have any invasion angle to play, the show featured several strong matches, including a well-received main event between Jon Moxley and Darby Allin. It also saw AEW World Champion Chris Jericho accept the challenge from Scorpio Sky for a title match after Sky delivered Jericho his first pinfall loss in AEW on the Oct. 13 episode.

However, AEW continued to dominate in the younger demographics.

In the 18-49 demographic, Dynamite had a 0.39 rating to NXT’s 0.3 rating for Wednesday’s episode. NXT continued to dominate in the 50+ demographic with a 0.4 rating to AEW’s 0.29 rating. This continues to highlight a general problem with WWE programming that has continued to do poorly with the younger audience desired by most advertisers.

The ratings win for NXT will also be one to watch to see if viewers stick around or if it was a one week boost thanks to two big pay-per-view events on Saturday and Sunday.
