Wall Street closed mixed on Friday, as disappointing earnings from tech giants Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) weighed on investor sentiment.
Although U.S. stocks ended the session mixed, the Dow and S&P 500 recorded a fourth straight week of gains, and the S&P recorded another record high.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 5.18 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 15,543.36. The S&P 500 Index rose 2.70 points, or 0.16 percent, to end at 1,692.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 23.66 points, or 0.66 percent, to finish at 3,587.61.
On the earnings calendar next week, Apple Inc., Facebook Inc., AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), Starbucks Corporation (Nasdaq: SBUX), Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) and more report results.
Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) is expected to report third-quarter earnings of $7.30 per share on revenue of $35.09 billion, compared with a profit of $9.32 per share on revenue of $35.02 billion in the year-ago period, according to analysts polled by Reuters.
Facebook Inc. (Nasdaq:FB) is forecast to report second-quarter earnings of 9 cents per share on revenue of $1.62 billion, according to Reuters, compared with a loss of 8 cents per share in the year-ago period on revenue of $1.18 billion.
