The Weeknd impressed audiences Sunday with his Super Bowl LV halftime show, which featured several memorable moments. But Twitter users can't get over one part of his performance that has now become a viral meme.

During the 2021 Super Bowl halftime show, the singer performed a medley of his hit songs at Raymond James Stadium, including “The Hills,” “Starboy,” “I Feel It Coming” and “Save Your Tears,” among others. As he prepared to perform his 2018 hit “Can’t Feel My Face,” however, he appeared to get lost in a complex tunnel-like maze within the stands, a camera tracking his feigned panic.

The moment sent Twitter users into a meme-ing frenzy, with the clip of The Weeknd frantically looking around spreading like wildfire on social media.

"When you lost and your friend says they’ll meet you at the Ferris wheel at a festival #SuperBowl," one tweeted with the clip.

"Me trying to find a vaccine site with extra shots about to go to waste," another added.

"When everyone is tweeting a version of a meme and you try to figure out what the reference is," wrote R. Eric Thomas, senior staff writer at ELLE.

Dictionary.com's Twitter account even joined in on the fun, posting, "Us giving the etymology of a word from the 1600s, and then trying to find a gif that fits."

Some were not surprised to see a viral meme coming out of The Weeknd's halftime performance.

"I knew that clip of The Weeknd was gonna become a viral meme as I was watching it live," one user tweeted.

"Congratulations @theweeknd, you are now gif and meme material now," another wrote.

"The best part of #SuperBowl is all of The Weeknd memes," Ashley Arteaga wrote with laughing emoji.

The Super Bowl LV halftime show also featured robot choirs, fireworks and The Weeknd dancing with an army of bandaged henchmen.

For his performance, The Weeknd sported his trademark red suit worn over a black cotton poplin shirt and wool pants. The outfit was designed by Givenchy, and the look was a reflection of his unique personality.

Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams said The Weeknd brought his look to life with his "energy, character and sense of style," Page Six reported.
