  • Manny Pacquiao's former rival sends him a message following possible fight with Conor McGregor
  • Pacquiao's former rival thinks he should fight Shawn Porter next
  • Pacquiao vs. Mikey Garcia has to overcome underlying obstacles

One of Manny Pacquiao’s former welterweight rivals sent him a message amid a possible fight with UFC star Conor McGregor.

Several years ago, Pacquiao rivaled with American boxer Timothy Bradley. The pair fought three times and it is safe to say that Bradley is one of the fighters who have greater knowledge about Pacquiao’s style of fighting.

In a recent interview with Fighthype.com, Bradley weighed in on Pacquiao’s next fight. According to the former champ, Pacquiao vs. McGregor is viable. However, given the style of Filipino champ, he should fight a boxer with the same aggressiveness inside the ring.

“It could happen. Manny Pacquiao is still a good, great name in boxing. Conor McGregor is a huge name in MMA. Yeah it can happen,” Bradley said.

When asked to send a message to Pacquiao regarding who he should fight next if the McGregor match doesn’t work out, Bradley told Pacquiao to fight Shawn Porter.

“Pacquiao, if you’re gonna fight somebody, fight Shawn Porter. Because that’s a collision. That’s a fight. You know Shawn Porter ain’t running. So he (Pacquiao) ain’t gonna look for him. He’s gonna be right there in his grill and it’s gonna be a war,” Bradley explained.

Just recently, another former champ shared his thoughts about Pacquiao’s next fight. Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. was asked to comment on Pacquiao’s incredible career and according to the former champ, Pacquiao’s “legs” play a huge role in his career now that he’s already an aged fighter.

With regards to who the Filipino legend should fight next, Jones Jr said that if Pacquiao could beat Spence, he could go on and fight the other American champ Crawford.

“For me, I would like to see him fight Errol Spence first, and after that fight, fight Terence Crawford,” Jones Jr said of Pacquiao’s next fight.

Mikey Garcia is touted to be Pacquiao’s next opponent. Matchroom Boxing and promoter Eddie Hearn are now attempting to put together a certain Garcia fight with future Hall-of-Famer Pacquiao. Garcia is poised to fight Pacquiao in a welterweight title tilt that could possibly land on July 11 in Saudi Arabia under DAZN. However, there are underlying obstacles that have to be addressed first.

The proposed deal states that it would air on DAZN Streaming in the U.S. and on Sky Sports in the U.K. As easy as it sounds, the said deal wouldn’t be finalized ASAP as Pacquiao, who fought his last two fights with Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman last year under the PBC promotional umbrella and through their pay-per-view, is still reportedly in-contract with PBC, a lucrative part of Al Haymon’s boxing promotion.
