Wendy Williams' ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, is engaged to Sharina Hudson, the mother of his love child, reports say.
Hunter, 48, purchased the engagement ring, which is valued at $80,000, last year, an unnamed source told Page Six.
It's unclear when exactly Hunter proposed to Hudson, but she has been seen rocking the diamond ring in Instagram posts as far back as April 2020, the outlet noted.
Williams married Hunter in 1997, and following 22 years of marriage, filed for divorce from him in April 2019 after she learned that Hudson, his mistress at the time, gave birth to a baby girl.
Hunter released a statement at the time saying he was taking full responsibility for what happened.
"I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans," he said in a statement obtained by Page Six.
Hunter added that he was going through a period of self-reflection at the time. He also insisted that he will continue to support Williams in her work and through all obstacles she may face.
In an interview on SiriusXM's "The Jess Cagle Show" following their divorce, Williams claimed that Hunter had been a "serial cheater" throughout their marriage, which she cited as another reason why she chose to end their relationship after 25 years together.
"I've known about her almost since the beginning. I've known that Kevin is a serial cheat," Williams said at the time.
She continued, "The more successful I got and he got, and we believed in each other, the more of a jerk he became — he used his good credit to purchase property that he chose to wine and dine his extramarital affairs. This girl wasn't the only one. She just happens to be the one who kept his baby."
Williams and Hunter finalized their divorce in January 2020. They share a 21-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr.
News of Hunter's engagement comes amid Williams' health struggles, which have caused her to take leave from her eponymous talk show.
The premiere of "The Wendy Williams Show" Season 13 was initially pushed back after Williams tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 and was postponed for the second time due to ongoing health issues stemming from her Graves' Disease and her thyroid condition.
The show launched earlier this month with guest hosts filling in, and there is no word yet on when Williams will return.
